Transcendence

2021
open edition
3ft x 5ft
woodblock on kitakata paper

This woodblock print was created from a sketch I made at Notre Dame in Paris.

The pointillist shading in the ceiling is achieved with small stars. The arches transcend from one column to another, offering support. The soaring ceiling lifts our eyes to transcend from the ground. The stars connect us to the universe, allowing us to transcend from ourselves.
